California was made great by values like inclusion, acceptance, equality, and environmentalism. It’s time we stood tall on these values as we push back.
California must preserve its citizens’ rights to seek justice in our courts, preventing corporations and insurance companies from limiting their obligation to ensure the safety and wellness of their consumers.
Criminal Justice Reform
We need to stop running from the reality of our criminal justice system – it is inherently racist and inequitable to those in lower socio-economic communities.
California shouldn’t be held hostage to states like Iowa and New Hampshire. We are the largest, most populous state in the nation. We should have an outsized influence on who our president will be.
The right of a free and fair press to engage in its public duty is under attack. We must protect the sanctity of the free press and allow investigative journalism to thrive.
There is no debate any longer. We need more thorough background checks and a ban on assault style weapons. Arming our teachers is not the answer.
The time for universal healthcare is now. As the wealthiest state in the nation, it’s our obligation to lead the country forward in this regard. No ‘ifs’, ‘ands’ or ‘buts’.
Our immigrant brothers and sisters deserve to live in peace, knowing that the country founded on immigrants, will support its immigrants. California will not yield against a misplaced fear of those from another nation.
If they want to do business in our state, telecommunication companies will have to play by our rules, allowing Californians to access the web in a democratic and unfettered manner.
We must stand together to protect the rights of our communities. We are all Californians, and we will not allow our neighbors to be singled out and intimidated.
We need to overhaul our public transportation system. Electrification of our public transportation grid is an essential part of our future. Increased transient-oriented development must be our continued focus.
Who I Am
I’ve spent my entire career fighting for individuals against large corporations and insurance companies. I want to bring that fight to Sacramento.
California must lead the way on environmental change. I’ll deny any permit for oil drilling, reduction of any wild land, and stand for the end to all fracking in California.
Students are drowning in debt to achieve their educational goals. We need to freeze UC and CSU tuition and fees, implement free community college, and ensure access to free, universal early childhood education.
California is a land of extravagant wealth and abject poverty. We are the richest and poorest state at the same time. It’s time for our state to work for all Californians, regardless of economic condition.
